Breakfast with the Easter Bunny: March 29, 2024 --- at the Large Pavilion in the City Park (500 West Park Avenue) starting at 9:00am with breakfast. The egg hunt will follow at 9:45am, for children 1 to 7 yrs. Parent/guardian must have ticket and supervise their children at all times. Tickets are $2 per person and may be purchased at the park office.
Kite Fest: April 13, 2024--- At Veteran's Memorial Park Fields starting at 1:00-4:00pm.
We are asking you to come out with your kites and have a day of flying. Come and watch the Gateway Kite Club fly their amazing kites!
Free Fishing Derby for Kids: May 11, 2024 -- at the Garden Club pavilion by the Union City Lake (400 Clark Ave.) starting at 10am. Please bring your own fishing pole, equipment and bait. Parents must accompany children under the age of 12. Anyone 16 years or older must have a fishing license. Please register online at: https://union.recdesk.com/Community/Home. Prize will be given for the largest and most caught.
Line Dance Lessons: Held in the Union City Auditorium on Monday's from 10:30-11:30am and Tuesday's from 1-2pm. Free, we just ask that you bring nonperishables for the food pantry.
Concert in the Park , 2024 -- at City Park (500 West Park Avenue) from 6:30-9:30pm. Free concerts series performed on the first Friday evening of the month at the Large Pavilion in City Park. Come enjoy a variety of music. Coolers and food are welcome.

Lawn Chair Movie Night, 2024 -- at City Park (500 West Park Avenue) starting at approximately dark. Free movie series held on the third Friday evening of the month in the large grassy area next to the Large Pavilion. The movie series is free and family friendly. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, food and coolers! All friends of the community are invited. In the event of rain, the movie will be pulled under the Large Pavilion.

45th Annual Founder's Day Festival: June 1, 2024 -- Fun day full of activities starting with the Union Chamber of Commerce run at 7:30am. Hwy. 30 Car Show starting at 9:00am. Open swim at the Splash N Swimplex at noon for $1.00. We will have food trucks, family games, face painting, balloon sculptor, craft booths, turtle races, pedal tractor pull, barrel train rides, The Monkey Bus. Cornhole tournament for the adults, Mustache and Beard Contest. Music starting at 2:00pm.
Union Firework Festivities: July 3, 2024 -- at Veterans Memorial Park (600 Progress Parkway). The display will ignite at approximately 9:30pm . Bring lawn chairs, coolers, blankets and yard games to make an evening of it at the park! The event is sponsored by the City of Union and many business's. There is concessions available for purchase and beer garden. Alice in Reverse will be performing at 6:30pm. Free face painter for the children along with Lollypop doing her magic with balloon sculpting and barrel rides.
UHS Multi-year Class Reunion: August 25, 2023 -- at the Large Pavilion in the City Park (500 West Park Avenue) Starting 7:00pm, Concert celebrating Union High School Graduating Classes over multiple years. The music performance will be, Fridley Brothers Band playing music from 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. Table can be reserved for $25.00 each and must be purchased at the park office.

Veterans Fishing Event (Operation Catch and/or Release) Oct. 1, 2023, 10:00am-2:30pm
at the Veterans Memorial Park Lakes. Free event for veterans. A collaborative event with American Legion Post 297. The Parks Department will be stocking Fifty (50) Bluegill/Sunfish Hybrids: at min 5-7”, Twenty-five (25) Largemouth Bass: at min 8-10”, Fifty (50) Channel Catfish: at min 12-16”. Post 297 will be providing lunch, bait, fishing gear (if needed), Hyper Local Extreme Weather will be providing fish cleaning services and Project Healing Waters will be doing a fly fishing demonstrations. Fall Rummage Sale: October 7, 2023 -- at the City Auditorium (500 E. Locust). Grab a table or two to sell those items you no longer use and make some money for Christmas. It's only $20 per table to display as many items that fit on the table and under the table. Set up starts at 6:00am - 8:55am. We open at 9:00am to the public until 1:00pm. Stop by the office and pick out your space today!
Boo Bash!: October 27, 2023 -- at the Large Pavilion in the City Park (500 West Park Avenue). Join Union Parks & Recreation Department (UPRD) for the Annual Boo Bash! This is a free family community event. Children of all ages must be supervised by parent/guardian at all times. Please be mindful of social distancing so all can have a safe, fun time.
Children's Costume Contest under the Large Pavilion, for kiddos ages 10 and under. Prizes are awarded to the following age categories: newborn-1, 2-4, 5-7, 8-10, and Group/Family. The more creative the better! Pre-registration is not required, just be under the pavilion no later then 6pm, because the contest will start promptly at 6:15pm. Stick around for UPRD's Trunk-or-Treat! Activities include trick-or-treating, hay rides and refreshments.

Union City Lake angler regulations for specie with daily limit and length limit are as follows:
1) Largemouth Bass, daily limit: 2, length limit: 18” minimum
2) Catfish, daily limit: 4, length limit: none
3) Trout from November 1 – January 31 is CATCH & RELEASE ONLY; NO TROUT may be possessed!
4) Trout from February 1 – October 31, daily limit: 4, length limit: none
5) All other fish, daily limit: statewide, up to 10 in the aggregate, length limit: none
*November 1 through January 31 - only 1 pole/person; artificial flies and lures ONLY; no natural or prepared baits.
*February 1 through October 31 - maximum of 3 poles/person may be used; no restrictions on bait; must stop fishing for all species after having 4 trout in possession.
*Pole and line fishing only
*No live bait may be taken.
*Frogs may be taken during the statewide season by hand, handnet, gig, or hook and line.
*All anglers age 16 through 64 must have a permit.
*Anglers must have a trout permit to possess trout.

Children's Christmas Party: December 8, 2023 -- Held at Central Elementary School 2 E. Springfield Ave. Bring the family for this fun & free event! There will be refreshments, face painting, balloon sculptors, and pictures with Santa Claus (bring your own camera) and every child (10 & under) will receive a gift. Please bring canned food items to help stock the food pantry for the holidays. For information on the parade, please call the Union Area Chamber of Commerce at 636-583-8979.
Valentine's Comedy Show and Dinner: February 10, 2024 -- Tickets go on sale December 1, 2023. Table of 6 is $270.00, which includes the dinner and 2-hour comedy show, cash bar. Must be 21 or older to enter, no outside beverages allowed! Purchase your table at the Union Parks and Recreation office. Comedians will be Christine Stedman and Kier.
