Water and Sewer Service

Establish Water Service

If you are moving within the city limits of Union and need to establish a new water service, below is some important information for new residents.

Deposits for Water/Sewer Services are as follows:

  • $100 for renters 

We require 24 hours notice to establish, transfer, disconnect service, No exceptions. Union Water Department is open 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

To establish service follow the steps below:

Option 1

  1. Contact Utility Billing at (636) 583-3600 to verify your address is within the City limits
  2. Print and complete the Service Agreement
  3. Make a legible copy of your valid driver's license or another form of picture ID
  4. Provide deposit in full
  5. Mail, email, or fax the above information to:

Please note that the Service Agreement, a form of ID, and deposit must be received in our office before water service will be established. No exceptions.

Option 2

  1. Come into City Hall located at 10 E. Locust Street Union, MO 63084 and complete a Service Agreement
  2. Provide a valid driver's license or another form of picture ID (we will make a copy)
  3. Provide deposit in full

Transfer Water Service

If you are transferring an existing water account to a new address you have the following options:

  • Print and complete the Service Agreement
  • Come into City Hall, 10 E. Locust Street Union, MO 63084
  • Pay any balance due on the account you are transferring from

We require 24 hours notice to establish, transfer or disconnect service. No exceptions. Union Water Department is open 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Name Change

If a name change or addition is needed you have the following options:

Discontinue Water Service

To discontinue your water/sewer/trash service, you will need to fill out a "Request to Discontinue Service" form.

In order to discontinue water services a request to discontinue service form will need to be filled out in person at City Hall or printed out and returned by email or fax. Click here for a fillable form.

All disconnect requests must be submitted by the primary account holder. All disconnections are completed on weekdays (Mon-Friday) - excluding City holidays.

Landlords, property owners and property managers please call the Utility Billing Office at (636) 583-3600 for assistance.

Any water deposit on your account will be applied to any outstanding balance at the time your final bill is generated. Should the deposit be greater than what is owed on your account, a check will be mailed to you for the remaining balance. All renter deposits are kept until service is discontinued. 

Billing Information

  • Water bills are mailed by the last day of the month.  Accounts will receive their water bill around the 1st week of each month.  The bill is due on the 15th of each month to avoid a penalty.
  • A 10% penalty or a late fee is applied to your account if payment is not received by the due date
  • A senior citizen trash discount is available to those who are 60 and older. Please come into City Hall with the appropriate form of ID and complete the Senior Citizen Trash Discount form or print and complete the online form. (link)

Payment Options

  • Pay in person at City Hall
  • Mail payment to City Hall 10 E. Locust Street Union MO 63084
  • Use the drive-through drop box for water/sewer/trash payments located in the parking lot west of City Hall
  • Automatic Bank Draft – Direct Pay
    • Payments are withdrawn from your account on the payment due date. An authorization form and a voided check must be provided.
  • Call (877) 812-3501 with a debit/credit card (VISA and MASTERCARD) Account number is needed.

Online

Registering your account online allows you to have access to additional
information. By double-clicking on the account number you can access your account detail such as payment/account transaction information, water consumption history, and address information. This information can also be printed.

Deposits

All water deposits for renters are kept until service is discontinued. All deposits are applied to the final bill. Any remaining account credit after the deposit is applied to the final bill will be paid to you. Any remaining unpaid balance is your responsibility. Unpaid account balances are subject to being reported to our collection agency.

Senior Citizen Trash Discount

A Senior Citizen trash discount is available to those who are 60 years of age or older. Forms are available at City Hall or online.  Proof of identification must be provided. 

Delinquent Accounts

If an account is delinquent for 1 month, service will be disconnected. At that time, you will be required to pay the past due balance in full and a service fee of $30.00. No exceptions.
